Astonishing Technique to Escape the Bondage of a Terror Mindset

I am different, I am no longer in bondage to a terror mindset.

And not different than the usual different, like my wayward “just the nougat” Snickers eating, fear of egg-salad and passionate partiality for all things Sharknado; but a different kind of different.

I have peace.

I have never had peace.

This post will be short.

There’s not that much to say. And I won’t lie, anxiety still taunts me.  But, I do not live there.

I want to convey this truth to everyone, but I cannot make you believe me.   I cannot make you believe Him.

I can testify to the change in me and encourage change in you but there is only one suggestion I can make to manifest change:

Believe.

I understand why you don’t, I didn’t either.  From one side of my cerebral faith I sought to please a cruel and wrathful God… from the other, I saw the glimpses of a brave and magnificent Savior who died for me.

The catalyst for bravery is believing Him.

Nothing can come between His love for me – you must believe this is TRUE.

I have embraced, embodied, and endorsed a god whose love was conditional on my ice cream, wine consumption, and pant size.

He was easily irritated by my sins. Sins I had categorized a bad, badder, worse, most worst and OH NO YOU DIDN’T?!?!?!  Sins I believed were not covered by the magnificent work of the Cross.

And then in the midst of a fit… the ugliness of a 45-year-old behaving as a 2-year-old I was rocked to my core by this:

“If you think that any behavior you engage in negates the power of the PROMISE of the Cross… you are failing to believe Him.”

You are failing in the only area required… belief.

In a season with the lurking and deep possibility of significant loss, I have gone to my knees and asked God all the hard questions.  And in the silence of my impending brokenness, I have heard Him say, “Believe me, it is well.”

[clickToTweet tweet=”He is for you…  do not be convinced otherwise. Believe and be brave. ” quote=”He is for you…  do not be convinced otherwise. Believe and be brave.”]

And no, this doesn’t mean things will go my way – still His way is better.  No matter the struggle He is for me, who can be against me?

No matter the temptation He is with me… He who dwells in me moves in kind loving direction – not condemnation nor wrath, He is rich in Mercy and His name is Teacher, Healer, Father.

If perfect love casts out all fear, and He loves me perfectly… how can I possibly be afraid?

If I were to lose everything… and all that was left was Him – I would have everything.

His Grace is beyond sufficient.

He is for me.

He is for my marriage.

He is for my children.

He is for me… you cannot convince me otherwise.

He is for you.

He is for your marriage.

He is for your children.

He is for you…  do not be convinced otherwise, loves…

Believe and be brave.

Romans 15:13 (NLT) “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Romans 8:31-33 (NLT) “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one-for God himself has given us right standing with himself.”

Isaiah 43:19 (NLT) “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

Galatians 5:25 (CJB) “Since it is through the Spirit that we have Life, let it also be through the Spirit that we order our lives day by day.”

May your floors be sticky and your heart full of BELIEF!  Love, Jami

1 Corinthians 10:23 Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial.

A Tuesday treat my favorite #joybaby lullaby…” I will listen… ever listen for you still small voice… Lord I’m longing to know you Lord, so I will listen for your still small voice….” Utter perfection, His Word in the midst of my darkest fears.   Blessings and Peace be to you each.

I would be so touched if you would share this post and join us in prayers for our family this week as we say goodbye to a loved one and trust the fate of another with He who loves like no other.

I believe that I am forgiven, I’m just don’t feel worthy.

How did you get past that hurdle?

It’s a daily chant for me “I walk in the favor of the Lord and He is for me!” It works. If your whole brain is on His love instead of my worthiness… love wins. ❤

I am not worthy….that is the beauty of grace. He doesn’t require anything of us to receive his forgiveness, except to repent and believe/trust him for our righteousness.
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

I know what this feels like. I stopped singing the words to all the praise songs that remind us of the lie that we are unworthy. If value is determined by the price of an object, then you must be of incredible worth for Jesus to give Himself. If you were the only person in the world, He would have made the Garden of Eden for you Ruth. Jesus let her feel it to the center of her bones.

    Beautiful truth!
He is over everything! My confidence increases the more time I spend reading His word! Our time here is short in comparison to eternity. Knowing Heaven is the final destination makes everything easier on this side.
Praying for you and your family!

I, like you was a fearful person! When I accepted Christ, not overnight, but over time, Jesus took my fear away and gave me peace. I was the worst–afraid of things that go bump in the night– worried about all things… In my case, I didn’t have to ask.. God just healed my fears. I have some other “fruits of the spirit” I am claiming now! (Self-control, being one!)
