teleoise - it is finished

How to Deserve the Cross

The Good News is Jesus died once – for all.

We need not earn the gift of salvation. To earn it would make it a wage. To pay for it would make it a purchase.

There are not enough hours in the week, nowhere to clock in and record the hours it would take to earn the Blood of Jesus. What would you even do? When would you arrive at a place where you could say, “Wooo, that was hard work… I think it was equivalent to the Crucifixion.”

When would it ever be enough?

And if you had a billion dollars? Would that pay for the slashes in His flesh? The puncture wounds in His tender scalp and the holes in His sweet hands and feet?

Who would you pay?

What about His mother… she watched Him be tortured to death – for you? Is that who you’d give your tax to? “Here’s some money, to pay you for your Son.”

There is not one thing that can compare to the sacrifice of Jesus. That is what makes it perfect… utterly complete. It is finished. Today is the day to let Jesus be Jesus. Stop trying to earn His adoration… you have it. Stop trying to pay Him back… you can’t.

Today… simply fall into the arms of a perfect God, the Real Jesus.

This is the word, a Greek word, τελείωσε – Teleiose. When you catch yourself in the habit of works, this is your word TELEIOSE; it is finished.

It is finished love… rest.

May your floors be sticky and your calling ordained. Love, Jami

Thank you for reminding me of all that Jesus did for me and that my “works” can do nothing to make me any better, draw me any closer, and be more. He is my All. He did it All. Praising Him this day!
This is my first time here due to the link up today, and I love the “Charlie” quotes under his two pictures. You really got it down! Also, your wish for all…those sticky floors and that ordained calling. Great!
    Caring through Christ, ~ linda
