BELIEVING AS THANKGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Today in the midst of grocery shopping, airport runs, pie making, road tripping, cleaning, stressing, and all things Thanksgiving… give yourself a break. I find I get the most done when I am undone. I work well under pressure. Whether the pressure is internal – and I am beating myself up or external – and I have to run back to the store for one more thing – it is never SPIRITUAL.

God doesn’t condemn.

This is a new concept to me. This is my first Thanksgiving to walk in the freedom of knowing, the Blood worked. I can’t get any better than the Father sees me right now. Jesus came to fulfill the law – not beat me to death with it.

You are free. You are righteous. You walk in the favor of the Lord.

It is too much to wrap my head around. So when I prayed this morning, that was my prayer. “I don’t know what to write. I don’t know how to convey the message in a few lines…” And I found myself writing:
“I JUST LOVE THEM, TELL THEM TO REST IN THE BELIEF OF MY LOVE. Believe me as thanksgiving”
Our Sam is the great confessor.  He will list his folly and beg forgiveness without merit.  Last night I told him, “I love you Sam.” and he said, “I sowrry I ate too much cookies mom.”
What???? I just love him.  I don’t care what he ate or didn’t eat.  I don’t care that his shirt is stained, or that his shoe is lost.  I don’t care that he colored me a picture or brought me a diaper and wipes for the baby… I just love him.
But this has been me.  I should be bathed in the love of Jesus and instead, I wallow in my wretchedness.  The insult runs deep.  What? My wretchedness is just so much more awful the Cross wasn’t effective?

Unconditional, bought and paid for, no condemnation, no chores, no nothing. Jesus plus nothing. He just loves us. We can rest in knowing He enjoys us. The turkey may be dry. You may forget the green bean casserole. You may get into an argument with your mother in law… All He sees is His girl. He delights in you whom He loves.

Talk about Thankful. He loved you unto death on the Cross while you still sinned. And now? Blameless. If today you hear a voice of nastiness cast it out in Jesus name. Today you need only respond to His loving kindness. Today, let your mantra be the simple response to Him loving YOU FIRST. No, I am sorries, or I am the worst.

Today let our prayer be one of thanksgiving and gratitude. A worship song of receiving the TRUTH. He says I love you, we say:

I LOVE YOU TOO….

Our greatest worship song has not been played. Receive the gift with true Thanksgiving, a genuine “Thank you” by believing it is done.

May your floors be sticky and your calling ordained!  Love, Jami

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
